9.3.11to 12.3.11 Manly & Shelly Beach and Dress 71 Botanical Gardens, Moore Park and Dress 72

9.3.11to 12.3.11 Manly & Shelly Beach and Dress 71 Botanical Gardens, Moore Park and Dress 72

David outside Sydney opera house before we went to watch Billy Connolly absolutely full and his last night here.
Manly Beach is so named because Mrs Macquarie wife of the Governor of NSW is said to have remarked that the Aboriginal men standing tall and still on the headlands of the Beach looked so manly apparently.

Dress 71 is worn by a lovely lady Julie who we met here we got chatting and she encouraged us to walk further to Shelly beach and the headlands. She walks every day the full length of the beach. We got chatting first as she admired my Shorts! She said whenever I like something it’s not from Australia. In my view Aus has some great clothes shops but at the moment they are all showing autumn and winter lines. Anyway Julie likes the shorts which are good old M&S Autograph.
David Jones and Myers are the two biggies over here I think that DJ and certainly the food halls rival Harrods or perhaps Waitrose on a good day.
Filtered water

Filtered water is freely available all along the beach which is great as we are getting through hugh amounts.
Surf lessons

The beach is used for many lessons volleyball, snorkelling and huge numbers of school children learning to surf.

It certainly is a pretty beach and we spend the day and went back again yesterday walking here and through the headland and nature trails.
Botanical Gardens

Beautifully maintained and down to the River we have walked so many miles over the past few days lots of Art galleries too.

Terracotta warriors

Russell Crows Sydney apartment Woolloomooloo
Apparently he spent $6m buying the top floor and the same again customising it this was as close as we could get

Moore Park Sydney Cricket, Rugby and Football
We toured here and walked the 'walk of Champions' statutes and plaques commenorating the sporting heros

The four seasons is great and the club lounge on the 32nd floor is great and a little haven.  I’m wearing Dress 72 iceberg silk so really easy to wear new for the cruise but now a great favourite.

Last night we heard of the terrible events in Japan and we were advised that the Tsunami could hit Australia at 3.00am we slept with our clothes on and essentials in a little bag tied to my wrist.  We woke about 4.00am to thankfully find that the concerns were unfounded and only California had experienced flooding.  There are 11,000 Aussies working and living in Japan so as you can imagine there is a lot of a concern and news story about their safety on the news.
We are worried for our new friends on the Aurora as it will certainly have some effect on them in the middle of the pacific.

Anyway for us this morning is great, 27C bright bright sunshine and the Rocks Craft market today
