15.3.11 Final Blog from Sydney and dresses 73 and 74

13.3.11 and 14.3.11 Sydney Sunday Rocks and Darling Harbour, Fish and Chips at Doyles of Watson Bay and dresses 73 and 74

The ladies of Sydney certainly know how to dress for the summer going into autumn.  There are lovely little short numbers in good stiff fabrics so they did not get creased, modest at the top with plenty of thigh. Other ladies dresses are juxtaposed---- long floating numbers legs covered and revealing tops.
All of which are great for me I am struck by how many of the ladies here are look great.  Without question Sydney is the best dressed place we have visited so far.

We went to the Rocks on Saturday to the craft market and even more dresses, many designed and made by the stall holders, I highly recommend it to anyone visiting.
I got this shot of Dress 73 with one of the stall holders GiGi’s Fairy Fashion, I wished I was 6 again or had a little one to buy this for, she says it’s her passion there are absolutely gorgeous and all the little girls were eagerly crowding round the stall.  Check out facebook GiGi’s fairy fashion.

Our trip here has been great, a bit on the exhausting as we have walked for miles; we have had 4 trips on ferries and visited places which on the usual fly in fly out city trip we would have just not had the time to explore.

Sunday in the Rocks seems to be the day and place for Wedding photograghs and this beautiful bride and party and us seems to follow each other round this interesting heritage site.  They were looking for the perfect background and I think they found it with this shot; they invited me to join them – yeh right in a crumpled skirt in 28C no way.

We walked to the Garrison Church and the Observatory and have to say it looks very English and a bit like the one at Bidston Wirral.

Finding the time and energy for the Blog has been a juggling act. Dinner is much earlier here some of the restaurants open at 5.30. On the cruise I had long afternoons with dinner not until 8.30pm and these were great for me to catch up with the blog.  So here I am in a Towelling robe at 7.00am on the day we fly to Adelaide catching up.

The hotel Four Seasons is so close to the main action – Circular Quays – and Sydney opera House and Sydney Bridge. We see them all literally as we pop out of the front entrance.  There must be a hundred pictures of them, morning noon and night from this week here.

round Darling Harbour

All the ferries and cruise ships start here so its very easy get anywhere around Sydney by water. – and of course it’s much more fun.

We went to the famous Doyles at Watsons bay for lunch yesterday –Grilled Barramundi salad and Chips – great. A bit overcast and probably the coolest weather we have had here but still 20C

To build up an appetite we walked up to the Gap this is entrance to the Sydney harbour a fantastic vantage point, and now a park, as you can see it was a bit windy.

So that’s it for Sydney since we were here 9 years ago its just got better and better a friendly welcome everywhere, the rocks has further developed into a major heritage area, every museum and gallery were all immaculate and all the public areas are beautifully maintained. There is a great sense of civic pride. And its been a great week here.

Theres one last bit to Sydney - the four Mad Ladies from New Zealand who made a great end to our last evening here -- but I'd catch up on that in the next post... ......... when Ive' censored the pictures remmeber ladies what goes on tour stays on tour !!
Adelaide next the only cloud on the horizon is can I get all the packing in the cases before the taxi at 10.30am
