17th January 2011 and the 10th Dress
Today the weather has been hot and humid we are about 700 miles north of Brazil. We will cross the equator at about 03.30am on the 18.1.11 there will be a ceremony later in the day and Neptune will feature. Our water will go down the plug the other way as we will be in the Southern Hemisphere. Sunrise was 6.11am although it was light by about 5.00am. Today’s dress is worn by Diana, she is in front of her map of the world, each day she records the position of the ship after the noonday bridge announcements. She is planning to buy a postcard from each of the ports and countries we visit. Diana and her husband Tony (who is 65 today) are, along with 1450 of the 1800 passengers going all the way round the world on the Aurora. We ate outside tonight at the Pennant grill the air was warm and soapy with humidity.
How exciting to be so close to Brazil and moving South! x
