16th Janury 8th and 9th Dressess

16th January 2011 8th  and 9th Dresses
Since leaving Madeira the weather has got progressively hotter and the sunset progressively earlier.  The sun streams through the balcony window before 7.00am and the sunset is around 6.30pm.  We have been attending talks on the various ports and places we are going to visit and our days are settling in to pattern whist at sea, an early breakfast, long walks round the deck, enjoying the relaxing days.  The temperature is 25C.  We are 500 miles off the Coast of West Africa equatorial guinea : too far to get a dress so – number 8 is Heather Nott she is the assistant manager at the reception and client relation desk, she is looking forward to an hour in the sun this afternoon, although I have told here to protect her lovely complexion.  Number 9 is me in a sun dress lovely and floaty as we walked round the deck in the late afternoon sunshine chatting and taking pictures.
Today is Sunday and therefore we are flying the Red Ensign the flag of the British merchant navy.  The others are white ensign the Royal navy and the Blue ensign yacht clubs and auxiliary shipping.
We are getting sad news about the weather in Brazil: the rain and flooding causing the worst natural disaster in 43 years.  Queensland in Australia and now Brisbane continues to suffer from flooding and we wonder what we will see in these two places.  I thought I would record our full itinerary for the trip today.
The clocks go back an hour again tonight so we get an extra hour in bed. Sending pictures is very time consuming so we will post more when we next get to port.
